About us

Community Church in San Jose exists to help people find healing, hope, and real purpose through Jesus—rooted in the Bible and lived out in a meaningful community.

Our church family reflects a variety of backgrounds and stories, yet we are shaped by one foundation: the love of Jesus and the truth of Scripture. Whether you’re exploring faith, returning to church, or seeking a place to grow, you are welcome here.

Together, we are learning to live as disciples—worshiping wholeheartedly, growing in unity, and bringing hope to our city. Come as you are, and let’s take the next step together.

OUR VISION

A community of disciples—transformed by Jesus, united in purpose, and spreading hope throughout our city.

OUR MISSION

We help people find healing, hope, and real purpose through Jesus, rooted in the Bible and lived out in community.

OUR VALUES

These values shape how we follow Jesus, how we treat people, and what we’re building together.

Jesus at the Center

  • Jesus isn’t part of what we do—He’s the point. Everything we do is meant to help people know Him, follow Him, and become more like Him.
    Scripture: Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 12:2

Led by Scripture

  • We’re guided by the Bible—because God’s Word is true, trustworthy, and practical for real life. We don’t want to just hear it; we want to live it.
    Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105; James 1:22

Worship Is Our Way of Life

  • Worship is more than songs—it’s how we respond to God. We gather to honor Jesus, and we carry that same posture into everyday life.
    Scripture: John 4:23–24; Romans 12:1; Psalm 95:6–7

We Build Belonging

  • Belonging isn’t something you earn here. No matter your story, background, or where you’re at in life, you’re welcome. We’re a church where people are known, supported, and built up together.
    Scripture: Acts 2:42–47; Romans 12:4–5; Ephesians 2:19-20

We Grow Together

  • We don’t believe growth happens in isolation. We grow through Scripture, prayer, community, and practicing the way of Jesus—step by step, with people around us who encourage and challenge us.
    Scripture: Ephesians 4:15–16; Colossians 2:6–7; Hebrews 10:24–25

Our Beliefs

Community Church shares the same core beliefs as the Church of God (Cleveland, TN).

  • We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It’s trustworthy, and it’s our guide for faith and everyday life.

  • We believe there is one God who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity).

  • We believe Jesus is the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived without sin, died for us, was buried, and rose again. He ascended to heaven and intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is still at work today. He points us to Jesus, teaches us, and empowers believers to live godly lives and serve faithfully, giving us the power to be His witnesses.

  • We believe everyone has sinned and needs God’s forgiveness. Repentance—turning to God—is not optional; it’s how we respond to His grace.

  • We believe we are made right with God by faith in Jesus and what He did for us. Salvation is a gift—paid for by His blood—and it results in a new life.

  • We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a promise from the Father. Speaking in tongues, as the Holy Spirit gives utterance, is the physical sign of this baptism.

  • We believe prayer is powerful and effective. We pray because God listens, God answers, and God moves.

  • We baptize by immersion all who have placed their faith in Jesus and want to publicly identify with Him.

  • We believe Jesus still heals, and that divine healing is provided in the atonement. We pray with faith and trust God with the outcome.

  • We believe God has a purpose for every follower of Jesus—to honor God and help people, living with compassion, integrity, and practical faith.
